SKYSOC
By Paul Willcock
We have worked very hard to make more drivers available than ever before to get to the airfield (see the "transport" page and facebook.com/groups/skysoc/).
But we appreciate that they can’t always get there when you need to, so here is some advice on what bus options are available.
Getting to the airfield
PART 1) Take one of the buses going to Broadmarsh Bus Station such as the Indigo or the 34. These run every 6-7 minutes.
PART 2) OPTION A) Switch to Bus 22 at From Bay 8 in Broadmarsh Bus Station.
The 22 is hourly starting at 9.15am but does not run Sundays.
Leave the 22 at “The Unicorn’s Head” pub in Langar. From there, it's a 20 minute walk to the airfield.
PART 2) OPTION B) Alternatively, the “Xprss” Bus from Bay 5 Broadmarsh runs every 15 minutes and starts much earlier than the 22.
It arrives at Bingham after 35 minutes which is 5 miles from the airfiel. This option is the only way to make first lift of the day.
If you are going to Bingham you will be 5 miles from the airfield so can either take a bike or take a taxi. Most of the busdrivers don't mind people taking a bike in, but be aware they are allowed to refuse it, so just ask nicely before entering the bus. Roma Cars are based in Bingham and charge £12 to get to the airfield. Their number is 01949 875377. They do not always answer, so if this is the case then you can phone the airfield on 01949 860878 to advertise the fact that you can pay £10 to anyone willing to collect you from Bingham – even if someone is getting ready to jump they may come and get you.
Getting back from the airfield
The 22 stops outside the Unicorn's Head hourly until 4:20p.m but does not run on Sundays.
If you decide to stay late then you need to bike, get a lift from a driver, or get a taxi to Bingham to catch the xprss back to Nottingham. Equally you can always sleep at Langar, and it’s always free.
The Indigo from Bay 3 at Broadmarsh Bus Station will take you to campus or beeston.

Getting a MANGO card
Visit http://www.trentbarton.co.uk/fares-and-tickets/mango and follow the instructions. Make sure you buy a STUDENT MANGO for the best price. You will need your student ID card with you to be able to use it.
The card costs £3 and requires a £10 first-time top-up. Once it arrives, you register it online. When using it swipe at the start AND end of the journey.
Best Options
A group of 3-5 friends buy a zig-zag ticket and split the cost. A group of 5 people will pay £2.20 for the entire trip.
